Section titled “What are Vehicle Transition Sets?”Vehicle Transitions define how the composition and characteristics of a vehicle fleet are expected to change over time. They provide a structured way to model shifts such as the gradual replacement of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles with electric or other low-emission technologies.
Why are they Important?
Section titled “Why are they Important?”The purpose of a Vehicle Transition Set is to ensure that analyses reflect realistic future conditions by specifying transition pathways so that impacts on road deterioration, vehicle operating costs, emissions, and energy use can be consistently assessed within economic and strategic evaluations.
How to Define and Edit a Vehicle Transition Set
Section titled “How to Define and Edit a Vehicle Transition Set”Each Vehicle Transition Set consists of a set of transitions from one vehicle type to another at a given rate and over a given time-frame. It also allows a shift ratio to be defined to allow, for example, 10 passenger cars to be replaced by 1 bus.
